PATRICK ESPINOSA

Bilingual (Spanish) JD/MBA with experience in general representation, contract negotiations, dispute resolution, human resource issues, sports law, transactional law, business/start-up consulting, and litigation. Licensed in Texas and Ohio.


Mr. Espinosa was born in Landstuhl, Germany to Colombian parents and has called many places home including: Ohio, California, Florida, Texas, Washington, Colombia, and China. While attending high school in Washington state, he played Rugby and was a ski instructor for five years. Initially beginning his studies at the University of Washington in 2000, Pat took a hiatus from studies to travel the world. His travels took him to many places including Changchun, China and Cartagena, Colombia where he taught English at several foreign language institutes and the Colombian Naval Academy.


Mr. Espinosa eventually continued his studies in Texas where he received his B.B.A with a concentration in marketing, graduating cum laude. During undergrad, Pat held many leadership positions at the college and in the community including the Robert King chair for Business Senators on the University Student Council. Wanting to pursue a career in law, Mr. Espinosa continued his studies at the University of Miami in Florida. While earning his JD/MBA at the University of Miami school of law he concentrated on contract law, negotiations and business formation. At the Miami school of business, he focused on management and computer information sciences and graduated with honors. During his studies, he worked on chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcies with the bankruptcy assistance clinic at Miami Law.


Pat also worked in the General Counsel’s office at the Colombian Consulate General in Coral Gables focusing on immigration and trade issues. After opening up a successful sports agency in Miami, Pat decided to change career paths and entered the world of corporate law and consulting. Upon his arrival in Cleveland, Pat decided to help the community and focused his attention on immigration issues. As an immigrant himself and being bilingual, Pat understands the issues that many of our underrepresented neighbors face and is in a great position to help those in need.


Mr. Espinosa has successfully represented many different clients across the country in many locations including Cleveland, Miami, Portland, Washington D.C., New York, Virginia, Kansas City, Baltimore, Los Angeles, and Chicago.


Mr. Espinosa is the president of the Ohio Hispanic Bar Association and a board member of the Greater Cleveland Partnership, Global Cleveland, the Northeast Ohio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Borderlight Cleveland Festival of International and Fringe Theatre. He also sits on several diversity committees at Case Western Reserve University school of law and the Cleveland Metro Bar Association. Pat currently resides in Mentor, Ohio with his wife Kandace, his daughter Valentina, and his son Santiago.
